Static compaction for trench backfill
Steel Unlimited wheels use carrier movement and downforce to knead backfill from the bottom up, without a special hydraulic circuit. AR400 wear points, double tapered roller bearings and a self-cleaning design support demanding trench work. Made in Riverside, California.

Wheel construction
Machined seal carriers and heavy-duty seals help protect the bearing assembly from backfill and debris. The shaft and housing assembly supports the wheel under carrier downforce. Match the series to carrier operating weight, then confirm wheel width and the mounting interface.
Pad style and mounting
Wedge pads provide penetration and kneading for general backfill. Sheepsfoot pads concentrate contact on clay and cohesive soils. Custom widths are available.
