On-site screening and material separation

The PFM-700 is a hydraulic vibrating screening bucket for skid steer loaders. Scoop material, activate the vibrator and separate soil and smaller particles from rocks and debris. It is used in landscaping, farms, industrial yards, golf courses, ballfields, beaches, horse arenas, utility trenches and site preparation.

Typical materials include dirt, gravel, sand, demolition debris and stones. Screening on the jobsite can reduce material handling and help recover reusable fill or bedding material. The bucket can also be used to dig, load and carry after screening.

Hydraulic operation and carrier requirements

The hydraulic vibrator shakes the load through a replaceable screen. An adjustable flow divider with pressure relief valve permits tuning vibrator speed to the skid steer's hydraulic system. The PFM-700 requires approximately 13–16 GPM at 1,500 PSI and bi-directional auxiliary hydraulics. Three hoses and tips are supplied.

Case drain required: A correctly connected hydraulic case drain is required for the manufacturer's seal warranty. Confirm the carrier's auxiliary hydraulic and case-drain connections before ordering. This machine is intended for scooping and intermittent screening, not continuous operation.

Replaceable screening panels

One screen, selected by the customer up to 2½-inch opening, is included. Additional panels allow the same bucket to handle different material sizes. Available openings include ⅛, ¼, ⅜, ½, ¾, 1, 1⅛, 1¼, 1½, 2 and 2½ inches; larger 3, 3½ and 4-inch screens are also offered.

Screen panels are made from high-carbon alloy steel and are replaceable without changing the bucket. Ordering extra screens with the bucket can reduce subsequent freight expense because individual panels otherwise may require palletized LTL shipping.

Pricing and freight

PFM-700 bucket: $8,413. One screen up to 2½ inches is included. Flat freight: $690. Additional screens from ⅛ through 2½ inches: $750 each; 3, 3½ and 4-inch screens: $970 each. Verify availability, shipping destination and carrier compatibility before purchase.

Ordering considerations

Dry or granular soil generally screens more readily than wet, sticky material. Choose screen openings based on the material to be retained and the material to be recovered. For applications involving bedding material, arena footing or large rock separation, contact Epic Grade to confirm the appropriate screen and carrier setup.

Specify your screening setup

Include your loader make and model, auxiliary flow, case-drain connection and preferred screen opening. Describe the material and the size you want to separate. One selected screen up to 2½ inches is included; list any additional screens so the bucket and panels can be quoted together.

Plan the load as well as the screen size

Remlinger specifies a maximum material load of 1,200 lb in the Series 700 screening bucket. Include the attachment weight when checking your loader's rated capacity. Bucket volume does not override the material weight limit, especially with dense gravel or wet soil.

For a screen recommendation, describe both the material you want to recover and the oversized material you want to retain. Include moisture conditions, carrier hydraulic flow and case-drain availability. Confirm auxiliary connections before putting the bucket into service.
